PROPERTY
El Galvan is 13,500 acres low fenced. Ranches this size are extremely rare in this location. Most have been broken down to smaller parcels throughout the years. The ranch is easy to access from Eagle Pass, TX, approximately 45 minutes to an hour drive. The brush is excellent, and just like any big ranch, it varies throughout the property. You will see Cenizo in most of the ranch, with a variety of mixed brush within: Black Brush, Granjeno, Cat Claw, Guayacan, Varadulce, Prickly Pear, Mesquite, and others... And there is an area of the ranch very pronounces with Guajillo and a lot of native grass.
There is power at the ranch. At the main entrance, there is a beautiful 130 acre native oak patch. There are two more smaller oak formations at the ranch.
Some roads could use work, making them wider and smoother, as well as making a road to access all of the perimeter. There has been cattle at the ranch, but it does not look overgrazed. There are many deer stands and feeders distributed throughout as well.
HUNTING
El Galvan has produced many beautiful native bucks throughout the years, ranging from 140's to 180's. There are several feeders and stands distributed throughout the property.
WATER
Water is very well distributed, with solar panels installed on all wells to replace windmills. At one time, there were two 200 acre pivots where a variety of grasses were planted. This was eventually abandoned since it was not the owner's main source of income and took too much time to operate. There are still two big wells that used to produce plenty of water to irrigate, but again they have not been in use for quite some time. It would certainly be interesting to explore the possibility of new pumps to see if the wells still produce an important quantity of water.
